LabTryo Coté Sud
Live jazz at La Caravelle, on Marseille’s Vieux-Port
About this event
Three jazz musicians “from the South,” brought together by a shared passion: paying tribute to the composers who have shaped jazz history. LabTryo’s repertoire draws on the works of Pat Metheny and Wayne Shorter — sweeping melodies, rich harmonies, lyrical synth guitar — bringing this timeless music to life with finesse and emotion. At the heart of the trio are two respected figures on the Marseille music scene: Claude Vesco (guitar, synth guitar), a purist guitarist awarded a medal in Guy Longnon’s class, co-founder of Cri du Port, and also a renowned jazz photographer; and Christophe Cuzzucoli (6-string bass), a musician who studied at the Marseille Conservatory and has opened for Roy Haynes, James Carter, and Dianne Reeves. Young Portuguese drummer Paulo Monteiro completes this trio, focused on attentive listening and refinement.
