Le duo Julien Brunetaud et Patrick Ferné Duo
Live boogie jazz and New Orleans swing at La Caravelle, on Marseille’s Old Port
About this event
Boogie, jazz and New Orleans swing. A pianist, singer and composer who honed his craft in New Orleans, Memphis and New York, Julien Brunetaud is one of France’s leading blues pianists. Named Europe’s best blues pianist in 2005 and France’s best in 2006, and a finalist in the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, he has shared the stage with Chuck Berry, opened for B.B. King and crossed paths with Evan Christopher, Leroy Jones and Louisiana Red. His album Playground (2016), along with his more recent records Feels Like Home and Bluesiana, showcases a contemporary blues piano style rooted in Professor Longhair and Dr. John. Based in Marseille since 2018, he performs with double bassist Patrick Ferné in a close-knit, swinging duo, moving between fiery boogie, ballads and standards from the Crescent City. An exceptional evening, right by the Old Port. Julien Brunetaud (piano, vocals) · Patrick Ferné (double bass)
