Julien Neel, comic-book author turned multidisciplinary creator Julien Neel established himself in the French youth-comics scene with the Lou! series, launched in 2004. After receiving the Youth Prize for ages 9–12 at the Angoulême Festival in 2005 for volume 1, he went on to win the Fauve Jeunesse award in 2010 for Lou! volume 5 – Laser Ninja. The series, adapted first as an animated show and then as a feature film, has become a major work of contemporary comics. In 2018, Julien Neel began a second cycle with Lou!
