Restitution de la performance "Créatures : la monstruosité en mouvement, entre photographie et performance"

The Ballet national de Marseille presents the public showing of a research and creative laboratory bringing together young participants from support organizations and alternative educational and training structures alongside students from the BTS Photography program at Lycée Blaise Pascal in Marseille. Conceived as a space for collective experimentation, this project explores the links between photography and performance through dance, cabaret, circus and image-based practices. Inspired by questions surrounding monstrosity, transformation and social norms, it examines the ways in which bodies are constructed, represented and transformed. This research and creative laboratory will resonate with (LA)HORDE’s new production "Après moi, le déluge", which provides a shared starting point and a cross-disciplinary framework for all the workshops on performance and photography. Exploring an unbalanced world in which bodies and social structures falter under the weight of crises, this production considers monstrosity as a critical and poetic tool revealing invisible norms, power relations and possibilities for transformation. Inspired by these questions, the various artistic proposals developed as part of the project will retain their own aesthetic and conceptual autonomy. Throughout the performance workshops led by Nin Khelifa and Jehane Mahmoud, participants will develop work in which photography becomes both a creative tool and a space for relating to the living world: gestures captured in motion, changing presences, traces of light, images printed on fabric and incorporated into the performance scenography. The presentation will take the form of a hybrid experience combining live performance and photographic installation. On stage, bodies will interact with the images produced during the laboratory, in a setting where costumes, materials and photographs extend the states of transformation explored collectively. Between apparition, fiction and documentary, this presentation will offer a journey through the imaginaries of the monstrous as a space of freedom, healing and self-reinvention.
