Soirée Kirtan - chants mantras
About this event
We’ll bring our voices to life by singing mantras, sacred sounds that will connect us with our hearts, bringing us together as one! We’ll begin with a meditation on a mantra to harmonize our energy and presence, then continue with other mantras that we’ll sing together, accompanied by music.
No particular skills are required, there is no age limit, and you certainly don’t need any special talent!
This is above all a heart-to-heart connection in a small, warm and welcoming group.
We recommend bringing a cushion so you can sit comfortably, a blanket and some water. Equipment may be provided on site, depending on the number of participants.
The most common benefits:
• Relaxation and reduced stress
• A lighter mood and less anxiety
• A sense of connection with the group
• Calmer attention and a less restless mind
• Slower breathing and a calmer heart rate
• The release of emotions as they arise (joy, gratitude)
Kirtan, which means to praise, sing or celebrate in Sanskrit, has its roots in the spiritual traditions of ancient India, at the heart of bhakti yoga, the path of devotion.
In Sanskrit, the word mantra means “instrument of thought”: a sound or mental tool used to focus the mind, awaken awareness and support meditation.
With simple, repetitive words, uncluttered music and an atmosphere that opens the heart while calming the mind, Kirtan is experienced as a sung meditation, an ecstatic trance.
Organization: UDAYÂME
Uday’âme, a Marseille association founded in 2014 (under the name Udaya), offers group energy-work classes and workshops to support personal growth across all aspects of our being: psychological, physical, emotional and spiritual. The program includes kundalini yoga and tantra kundalini yoga, active meditation (Osho), holotropic breathwork, kirtan (mantra chanting) and self-hypnosis.
