Soprano: from Marseille rap to stadium stages

Born in Marseille’s Northern Districts, Soprano — whose real name is Saïd M’Roumbaba — first made his name as part of the Psy 4 de la Rime collective before embarking on a solo career. His discography now includes eight studio albums, from his committed beginnings through to Freedom (2024), structured in three parts and driven by renewed artistic ambition.

One of his notable works is Chasseur d’étoiles (2021), which earned him his first acclaimed stadium tour. Known for family-friendly, positive rap influenced by a wide range of artists — from Michael Jackson to Kanye West, via Daniel Balavoine — he has also made a name for himself on television as a coach on The Voice Kids.

How do you get to Stade CEPAC Vélodrome in Marseille?

Located in the Prado area, in Marseille’s 8th arrondissement, Stade CEPAC Vélodrome can be reached by car via the A55 motorway (city-centre exit) or the A7 motorway (exit no. 36). Several parking options are available nearby: Parking du Parc Chanot (paid, immediately nearby), Q-Park car parks at €6, or free parking near Sainte-Marguerite Dromel station (100 spaces, maximum height 1.9 m, a 2-minute walk away). A St Charles package (EFFIA + RTM) at €8.50 is also available, including 4 hours of parking and a return metro journey from the city centre. Please note: on busy days, traffic is disrupted and some car parks are closed, so remember to book in advance.

By public transport, metro line M2 serves the stadium directly via two stations: Rond-Point du Prado (access to the South Stand and Jean Bouin Stand) and Sainte-Marguerite Dromel (access to the North Stand and Ganay Stand). Numerous RTM bus lines (15, 16, 17, 24, 46, 47, 48, 72, 73, 83, among others) also serve the stadium, with additional services on event days. The same RTM ticket is valid on the bus, metro and tram for 1 hour. Rond-Point du Prado and Sainte-Marguerite Dromel stations are equipped with lifts for people with reduced mobility.

Our advice: take metro line M2, which is fast and avoids parking worries, particularly on busy evenings at Stade CEPAC Vélodrome.
