Table ronde Travail et migrations au temps de la désindustrialisation
Work and migration in the age of deindustrialization Trajectories, representations, and transmission
Mon, 9 Nov 2026 · 09:00 – 16:00Morning – Afternoon
About this event
From 1980 to 2007, an average of 71,000 industrial jobs were eliminated each year in France.
Closely linked to relocations and workforce mobility, the history of industry is therefore closely intertwined with the history of migration. This study day will explore the connections between work, migration, and deindustrialization, from the 1960s to the present day. Through historical, sociological, and heritage-focused approaches, it will examine the experiences of those who worked in industry, as well as the ways in which these experiences are passed down between generations and become part of our heritage.
