U.22 X Sororo Club: Mia Koden, Mila Necchella, Réjane

Born in Mila Necchella’s mind, Sororo Club is a Marseille initiative created to train, support, empower and bring together FLINTA artists in electronic music. At 22, we naturally support its valuable, long-term work, with this event centered around a special guest, Mia Koden.

Of South Sudanese and British heritage, Mia made her mark early in her career as part of the duo Sicaria Sound with Lou Nour. A fan of sound-system culture, roots reggae, drum and bass and dubstep, and especially influenced by the music of countries where she grew up, such as Ghana and Nigeria, she is now one of the top UK DJs to discover this year.

Réjane, an artist supported by the Quatre Mains program launched by Sororo-Club, l'A.M.I and Bi:pole and mentored by our resident DJ Yenkov, will represent her collective Awebo with a set of tribal percussion and deep bass, plus a few trance detours.

Finally, Mila Necchella, already a familiar face on Unité.22’s adventurous lineups, will close out the lineup with her surgical mix of Rave & Bass Music sounds, always driven by her desire to explore music and build bridges between cultures.

—————— MIA KODEN Mia Koden aka Sancha Ndeko (she) is a South Sudanese-British music producer and DJ based in south London. She first grew up in Ghana and Nigeria, nourished by her parents’ music collection from the African continent and beyond. During her formative years in the UK, she often went to venues where she could hear roots reggae, drum & bass and dubstep. At one point, while studying at university in London, two rusty Technics 1210s came her way. Since then, Ndeko has created and championed underground electronic music while building a record arsenal spanning many of the world’s sonic corners.

MILA NECCHELLA Mila Necchella champions an engaged, boundary-breaking and resolutely modern vision of electronic music. A DJ and producer, she develops a hybrid approach to club music at the crossroads of bass music, breaks, techno, g-tech and Latin club sounds. Her sets play with contrasts, blending syncopated grooves, sharp basslines and precise rhythms in a construction that is as rigorous as it is effective on the dancefloor. Alongside this, she develops her production work, building a distinctive sound signature already brought to life with two releases on the Bad Tips and Minuit Rapide labels, and shaped by her club and festival performances in direct contact with the audience. Beyond the stage and studio, she actively contributes to building a more gender-equal and inclusive scene. Through Sororo-Club, the association she founded, she supports FLINTA artists in their professional development and empowerment, affirming a creativity inseparable from her values.

REJANE Rejane is a DJ whose selections move between organic grooves, percussive rhythms and hypnotic textures. Inspired by her French-Spanish dual heritage, she shapes sets where Mediterranean influences meet deep bass, soul warmth and trance detours, all driven by a resolutely club-focused energy. She first came up on the Marseille scene before developing her career between Paris and Bordeaux, with appearances at La Rotonde, Point Éphémère and Iboat, among others. In 2024, she embarked on her first international tour in Central America. She performed in Mexico City and Guatemala, on radio airwaves as well as at festivals. Driven by a desire to create spaces for connection as well as musical experiences, she co-founded AWEBO, a collective exploring hybrid sounds that blend trip-hop, dub, break and bass music. This year, she released her first co-production with Yenkov on the Marseille label Sororo Club. At the crossroads of their worlds, the track blends techno-trance and organic bass energy in a progressive, immersive journey.
