About this event
The Frankfurt School, by Annick Stevens
Theme The Institute for Social Research, founded in Frankfurt in 1923, is an association of thinkers advancing new approaches to the study of societies: placing political and economic critique at the heart of theory, exposing the ambiguities of the means through which it is developed (language, reason, art, dialectics), and identifying the material and psychological conditions of alienation, domination, and fascism.
Over a series of seven sessions, we will explore the main contributions of this school of thought and consider how they might be brought up to date.
