About this event
Fists clenched, brows furrowed, intense and bubbling with energy, Zélie sings and dances her strength and dominant sensitivity to energizing, raw songs with electronic sounds.
Talkative and personal, her writing is the kind that captures attention through its astonishing universality in the face of so much unguarded intimacy.
But more than any other artist, it is Zélie’s own experience that has shaped her latest album, "Le coeur et sa dictature." Living her own songs onstage, night after night—this may be one of the starting points for "Coeur et sa dictature." The rich textures of this new release bear witness to the artist’s journey, as she prepares to take her career to a new level and break through another glass ceiling, with lyrics fueled by universal experiences such as romantic breakups, young women’s relationship with their own bodies, and the consequences of parents’ divorce on children.
Almost as many themes transformed into anthems about the “strangeness of humanity,” as the singer describes it, composed with the passion and truth characteristic of one’s twenties and its excesses. Zélie has found her voice. In concert, Zélie promises an experience: an explosive, American-inspired show blending contemporary dance and hip-hop with her sharp, tart pop, which will also make you feel close to her and her colorful world.
