Memories of a Concrete Love – Part II

The PACA Order of Architects and Nathalie Schneider, in partnership with the PACA architecture and city center, present the photo exhibition “Memories of a Concrete Love – Part II”, exploring the connections between body and architecture. When the body becomes the revealer of space Initiated by architect Nathalie Schneider, the project explores and questions the invisible and sensitive relationships linking the body and architecture. This experimental work emerged from a dialogue between the architect, photographer Vivien Carmagnolle—accompanied by Lara Conti—and the Artmacadam dance company, brought together in 2024 during the Athéna Port residency in Bandol, an emblematic Brutalist work from the 1970s designed by Jean Dubuisson. This is not a documentary approach. The aim is not to freeze a building in its technicality, but to invite a genuine perceptual journey. Concrete, light, lines and circulation fade as mere structural elements to become the setting for a narrative experience. Guided by the architect’s gaze, then revealed through the photographers’ eyes and the dancers’ movements, the raw material becomes human and embodied, opening the doors of the imagination. Following on from an initial exploration presented in October 2024, this second part of the exhibition enriches and deepens a cross-disciplinary artistic investigation. A project supported by local stakeholders Architect Nathalie Schneider’s project, initially titled “Dance and Architecture”, was selected in the Call for Expressions of Interest (AMI) launched by the PACA Order of Architects in 2024. It also benefited from the commitment of local partners—Froid Énergie Équipement, Atelier CD, Groupe SNEF, 2BSR Architectes, and the Anamorphoses: Arts & Perceptions association. The exhibition is now presented in collaboration with the PACA architecture and city center.
