Soirée Beethoven

Soprano Sandrine Piau and the Wanderer Trio bring Beethoven to life through his sonatas, trios and songs! For Victor Hugo, Beethoven’s work was “a dilation of the soul into the inexpressible.” While his symphonies inspired and impressed generations of composers, the composer also reveals himself in the intimacy of his chamber music. For this evening, part of the bicentenary of Beethoven’s death, Olivier Bellamy finds the words and serves as our guide. The members of the Wanderer Trio will perform works such as Les Esprits and the Archduke Trio, joined by soprano Sandrine Piau for lieder that are less familiar to the general public but no less moving.
