CONCERT DE L'ORCHESTRE PHILHARMONIQUE DE MARSEILLE GUERRE ET DOUCEURS

Symphonic concert

In the Overture to Coriolan, Beethoven is moved by the fate of a heroic, tender-hearted Roman general in a fiery piece.

If Beethoven was deaf, Rodrigo was blind. His famous Concierto de Aranjuez was composed in Paris in 1939 as a response to the Spanish Civil War. After the defeat of 1871, anti-German sentiment was so strong in France that Franck’s Symphony in D minor was deemed too German. Today, it is a classic and therefore immortal.
