A duo of circus performers continues its exploration of balance and imbalance using a rola-bola. From accepting instability arises a series of profound questions between them about joy as an act of resistance. From balance to imbalance, Fred and Alex, exuberant partners on a wooden beam, come together to claim joy as a vital and collective necessity. This act of resistance begins on a rola-bola. On this board balanced on a cylinder, they compose a choreography and explore the physical interdependence of delicate coexistence. They create a collective body capable of playing both with constraint and with the exhilaration of imbalance. Little by little, the duo questions joy, cheerfulness and celebration. Does being joyful mean being happy? Is joy contagious? This show is the first part of a new cycle by La Mondiale Générale dedicated to elation, as if to lay the foundations of joy somewhere within friendship.
