The second edition of a festival about design in Marseille and Provence.

About this event

Etymologically, design, derived from the Italian “disegno,” means both drawing and intent, form and purpose. This dual dimension invites us to consider design as a way of thinking and doing, and opens up a particularly rich field of practices. So can “design” be written in the plural? Can we say that there are as many designs as there are designers?

Tangible was born from the desire to make this diversity visible, particularly the diversity found in our region. From Marseille to the Luberon via Aix-en-Provence, the panorama drawn by this festival is constantly evolving, abundant, sensitive and joyful, while being firmly rooted in the present and its uncertainties. Today, in societies damaged by excessive consumerism, design is more on the side of solutions than problems when it intersects with other creative practices, crafts, art and the sciences, shifting perspectives and rethinking ways of doing things. When it moves away from productivist models to invent and bring people together.

Discovering these approaches means looking at our everyday lives differently: understanding how objects and signs are conceived and made, and meeting the people who imagine them. Considering design in the plural also means glimpsing new ways of inhabiting the world and, collectively, inventing a desirable future.
