They work for a couple who belong to the bourgeoisie. They regularly engage in a sordid role-playing game in which they practice killing their mistress. They blame her for her constant insults, even though she promises to make them her heirs. One day, as they begin their little daily theater, the situation gets out of hand. Claire plays Madame, while Solange plays herself as well as her sister. The conversation is violent. Claire, in the role of the mistress, insults her sister. She believes that her maids blame her for being responsible for her husband’s imprisonment.
