A medieval adventure where the absurd reigns supreme, carrying a subtle message of equality. This show takes the scenic route through traditional storytelling to explore its blind spots, with humor, fantasy and an unapologetic taste for the absurd. The idea was born from the desire to revisit the famous phrase: “They lived happily ever after and had lots of children.” A seemingly innocuous sentence, but one that carries an entire normative, often sexist, always rigid imaginary. Without lecturing or moralizing, Preu opens up a space for play in which old patterns can be questioned: the place of women, the weight of expectations, consent, love as destiny. The show deliberately flirts with the absurd and fantasy, somewhere between popular fairground theater and a barely veiled Monty Python legacy, in its way of seriously playing with the absurd and lopsided heroism. The result: a multilayered form, light in appearance but infused with profound issues. Young audiences will find a funny, fast-paced adventure.
