Tuesday, November 24 at 7 p.m. General rehearsal! Compagnie Padam Nezi. Theater. All ages. Duration: 1 hour. A commemoration ceremony begins, but immediately gets bogged down: the flag bearer can no longer carry the flag, phones ring during the minute of silence, nobody has ever sung La Marseillaise so badly... how far will the catastrophe go? Meanwhile, in a classroom, a teacher explains to her pupils where all these commemorations in France come from. First, the revolutionaries who wanted to celebrate the storming of the Bastille every year; then the First World War, and the Second, and memory becomes more complex and fragmented. We no longer celebrate; we commemorate. But why this person rather than someone else? Or this event? Two actors take on a multitude of roles and move between eras and controversies to untangle the political and personal dimensions of the process of remembrance.
