Amid the din generated by the contemporary flow of information, misinformation and injunctions, Louna Delbouys-Roy responds with a first solo creative project. From hearing too much and seeing too much, I no longer listen, I fall silent, I become desensitized to the world, I muffle the cries, muteness settles in and vertigo appears. Vardhum places this sensation of vertigo at the heart of a circular world, where a cyborg character expresses resistance to the flows passing through its bodily envelope through the persistence of the vocal act. An act that predates language, voicing—or the transposition of breath into voice through the vocal cords—seeks to make physiological transcendence an artistic act in itself. The solo opens with a color of festive, cynical celebration of the earthly condition. In constant whirling, a coded dance emerges from hopping and unfolds into different rhythmic patterns. From a body caught in a frantic race, the voice tries to be heard. Body and voice join forces to serve a dual musical and choreographic composition in which celebration and fatality merge. Choreographer, composer and performer Louna Delbouys Roy. Duration: 35 min + conversation with Louna Delbouys-Roy.
