Wallace Negao & Dolce Samba

Based in Marseille for about ten years, Wallace Negão is a tireless ambassador for Brazilian rhythms, as well as a singer and cavaquinho player (the small four-string guitar emblematic of samba). With Dolce Samba, his trio featuring 100% Brazilian percussion—pandeiro, tantan, cuíca and tamborim—he turns the evening into a warm, dance-filled celebration in the spirit of Rio, somewhere between samba and bossa nova. A prominent figure on Marseille’s Brazilian music scene, Wallace also leads the project Trio Combo Brazil (debut album in 2016, appearance at the Festival de Marseille), where Rio’s rhythms meet Creole and electronic influences.
