Biennale des Imaginaires Numériques 2026
24 October 2026 – 17 January 2027 · Marseille
About
By focusing this edition on the theme of resistance, the Biennale opens up a multifaceted space for reflection at the intersection of activism, tactics of subversion and artistic acts of disobedience.
Created in 2018 and organized by Chroniques, the Biennale des Imaginaires Numériques is the major event for digital arts and cultures in the Sud region. Exploring visual arts, sound arts and live performance, the Biennale examines both the presence and use of digital technology and new technologies in art. It occupies public space and gives a voice to national and international artists from diverse backgrounds.
The aim is to examine how digital practices—whether stemming from performance, installation, live performance, virtual or augmented reality, video or algorithmic writing—can become spaces of symbolic, political and aesthetic struggle.
As guest of honor at the Biennale, Saison Méditerranée gives a voice to artists and creators committed to multiple forms of digital practice, whose artistic gestures bear witness to a necessary counter-narrative. The theme of resistance, approached through the lens of digital cultures, opens up a multifaceted space for reflection at the intersection of activism, tactics of subversion and artistic acts of disobedience. The aim is to examine how digital practices—whether stemming from performance, installation or live performance—can become spaces of symbolic, political and aesthetic struggle.
For its 5th edition, the Biennale will take place in several cities in the Sud region—Aix-en-Provence, Marseille, Avignon, Arles, Istres and Port de Bouc—with a multidisciplinary program from October 23, 2026 to January 17, 2027.

Immersive DJ set with Modeselektor DE x Collectif Scale FR
Since the early 2000s, DJs and producers Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary, known as Modeselektor, have formed an essential duo on the Berlin techno scene, deeply rooted in East Berlin. IDM, hip-hop, UK Bass, breaks, house, ambient: Modeselektor has thrown itself wholeheartedly into every style, bringing great variety to its music.
On stage, Flux, a work by the Scale collective, will accompany the DJ set. Oscillating between poetic waves and frantic undulations, the work is synchronized across a variety of speeds, colors and amplitudes.
As the opening act, Marseille native Mile Dietrich will be behind the decks with a techno-garage show, with a touch of punk.
