About this event

Two children a little battered by life meet up to zigzag between dream and reality. The audience, seated inside a caravan, witnesses this tale that is as intimate as it is zany. The set unfolds like a pop-up book in time with the scenes.

Casper and his girlfriend Tite Pièce, two children who are as flamboyant as they are outsiders, meet at a crossroads to watch the cars go by. Suffering from life’s hostility, they do not give in. Together, they hope and dare to throw hope in the face of the world. One day, while Casper is alone, the Genie of Elbow Grease appears. A genie who may grant his three wishes…

In the intimacy of the caravan, the audience watches life come and go. The staging plays with what is offstage, inside and outside. The characters play at appearing and disappearing. Inspired by German impressionist cinema, the set unfolds into as many worlds as the pages of a book. In this tale, Fabrice Melquiot enchants us with suspense and poetic wonder.

This show combines the fantastic with the strange and questions what makes us human.

Théâtre Clandestin

Designed to bring contemporary writing to audiences, Le Théâtre Clandestin is a performance caravan that brings intimate and political stories to life. These shows question accepted truths and give a voice to what often remains invisible. Its work prioritizes closeness with the audience and the evocative power of the stage.
