About this event

Compagnie Déraciné - Un Voyage Accidentel (France - Sharon Tulloch, Emmanuel Reymond)

On March 6, 2019, the author was evicted from her apartment in Marseille’s Belle de Mai neighborhood, a few months after the collapses on rue d’Aubagne. Uprooted overnight, she began writing on social media—to breathe, inform, make visible and keep a record of this forced displacement and the lives she encountered along the way. These fragments gave rise to Un voyage accidentel, published in 2024 by Éditions Commune (Martine Derain). Driven by a rhythm and punctuation-free writing that call for a voice, these texts find their stage: together with double bassist Emmanuel Reymond, the author performs a musical reading in which voice, music and images converse, exploring this intimate and political story through memory, anger, humor and solidarity. [ voice, double bass ]

Mildacoro - Rive (France - Loïs Lazur, Clémence Lasm, Alban Mercier)

For the JEST festival, Mildacoro will present a new version of the project as a trio: Clémence Lasme (bass, voice), Loïs Lazur (drums, voice) and Alban Mercier (Officium) (guitar, modular synth). Mildacoro’s music sketches out a distinctive style, conceived as the soundtrack to a road movie. It emerges from constellations of references, memories and utopian imaginings. Infused with Japanese influences from the 80s, krautrock and dream pop, the trio leaves plenty of room for intuition and freedom of expression. Each piece is conceived as a place and a story: a distinct setting carried by dreamy voices and ethereal melodies. [ voice, double bass, synthesizer, drums ]
