In a dialogue between a child and an adult, a game is invented to delay the moment of leaving. The child gradually comes up with its rules. The only goal is to have fun a little longer, to summon dance, song and the pleasure of being together. Adult and Child have to go home. But the child wants to suspend this moment and make the most of it. So they invent a game! A game whose rules are built as they go along. A game that seems to have no purpose other than allowing them to remain together. In a delightful dialogue, it soon becomes clear that, for the adult, playing along is not so simple. Jon Fosse’s writing leaves great freedom to the imagination. Funny, thoughtful and moving all at once, this play finds a way to nourish the adult-child relationship. The circular set, entirely dressed in red, draws inspiration from playgrounds and invites us to dance. Emma Gustafsson directs two performers with disabilities from the L’Oiseau-Mouche company. Quirky and fanciful figures, they create a lovely rapport with the audience and emphasize the need to live in the moment and enjoy playing.
