In a dialogue between a child and an adult, a game is invented to delay the moment of leaving. The child gradually comes up with its rules. The only goal is to have fun a little longer, to bring in dancing, singing and the pleasure of being together.
Adult and Child have to go home. But the child wants to suspend this moment and make the most of it. So the child invents a game! A game whose rules take shape as it goes along. A game that seems to have no purpose except to allow them to remain together a little longer. In a delightful dialogue, it quickly becomes clear that, for the adult, playing along is not so simple.
Jon Fosse's writing leaves great freedom to the imagination. Funny, thought-provoking and moving all at once, this play finds a way to nourish the adult-child relationship.
The circular set, dressed entirely in red, draws inspiration from playgrounds and invites us to dance. Emma Gustafsson directs two performers with disabilities from the L’Oiseau-Mouche company. Eccentric and fantastical figures, they create a lovely rapport with the audience and highlight the need to live in the moment and enjoy playing.
