DREAMACHINE FESTIVAL — FIRST EDITION

Across a period

About this event

Some nights open breaches.

Dreamachine was born from the desire to create a space where you can lose yourself a little. A space with porous boundaries, where genres blend, bodies move freely, and identities are not required to explain themselves.

At a time when we are constantly asked to define ourselves, categorize ourselves, label ourselves, and make ourselves ever more legible, we claim movement. The right to contradiction. To ambiguity. To metamorphosis.

If we want to lose ourselves a little, it is also so that we can find ourselves again more fully.

We believe that partying is much more than entertainment. That it is a place for connection, experimentation, and freedom. A place where you discover artists, but also new ways of being together.

In the south of France, spaces where queer cultures can gather, show themselves, celebrate themselves, and reinvent themselves remain far too rare. Yet they play an essential role. They allow communities to recognize themselves, stories to circulate, and imaginations to take shape.

Over two weekends, Dreamachine will open up these spaces and transform Marseille into a playground for collective exploration.

Six gatherings. Six venues. Six ways of inhabiting the city.

From a chapel to a club, from an art center to a neighborhood venue, each stop is conceived as a meeting point. A constellation rather than a single center. A journey through worlds, sounds, and sensibilities that converse and come together without trying to resemble one another.

The program follows this same desire to break down boundaries between genres and between people: bringing electronic music and club cultures into dialogue with performances and experimental forms; mixing artists from here and elsewhere; bringing queer and diasporic scenes together with more elusive trajectories.

And one statement:

We are here.

Our cultures exist. Our communities exist. Our parties exist.

They deserve spaces in which to grow, resources to develop, and a lasting place in the cultural landscape.

Every project that is born, every venue that opens, and every audience that gathers helps build this future.

This first edition is an invitation.

To come and dance. To listen. To discover. To meet. To be surprised.

See you on 25 September at Unité 22 to open the doors of this first edition and discover the complete program!
