This show takes the roundabout paths of the traditional tale to explore its blind spots, with humor, fantasy, and an unapologetic taste for the absurd. The idea arose from the desire to revisit the famous formula: “They lived happily ever after and had lots of children.” A seemingly innocuous phrase, yet one that carries an entire normative imagination—often sexist, always rigid. Without lecturing or moralizing, Preu opens up a space for play in which we question old patterns: women’s place, the weight of expectations, consent, and love as destiny. The show deliberately flirts with absurdity and fantasy, somewhere between fairground theatre and a barely concealed legacy of Monty Python, in its way of seriously playing with absurdity and shaky heroism.
